Climate Negotiation diary # 2: Quote by Venezuaela

If the climate was a bank, the West would have saved it by now-Hugo Chavez

In my reading, discussing the typology of argumentation, what catches my eye the most is the discussion on the importance of political ideology which is evident in climate negotiation. See this mindset maybe the biggest impediment to reconciliation between North and South despite it being justifiable. If anything this type of thinking urges both side to see where we all sit, that is on the sideline while mother nature takes it course on Earth. Yups, lets just keep watching this happen because we want our economy to rival the big powers and we are tired of being small. Totally justifiable, but you know what you can pick either attitude despite of how how small or big you are, and rightfully you may pick a side. At the end of the day, you do pick a side and you sticking by it has implications for the world. Lets get real with ourselves.
